Welcome to the Olympic Coven

Forks, Washington

So you’ve just joined the Olympic Coven Roleplaying Game…now what? First of all, WELCOME! We’re happy to have you join us! Our game has been together for more than a year, and in that time we’ve forged friendships, created bonds, and supported one another through times of crisis and celebrated together in times of rejoicing. We’re glad that you found us.

The first place you’ll want to stop in is the staff page where you can familiarize yourself with the admins and the moderators who keep this game running smoothly.

One of the benefits of having our own social network is that each person can express their creativity on their own page. Think of it as similar to a Facebook page; you can add your own photos, videos, music, information, and alter the layout and style to match your own personality! To get started, just click “My Page” on the top toolbar!

We’re a community, and that means we like to communicate. A lot. Be sure to take a look at our Forum and our Chat Room. We also have Member Groups, which you can consider to be mini-communities within the big community. Stop in, introduce yourself, and say hello!

Would you like to learn more about the characters you’ve known and love? The best place to start is by following our group on Twitter. We have it set so you can follow everyone with just one click. (Ok, maybe two.) Next, check out the character pages in our community, and peruse our character blogs.

To catch up on our game so far, be sure to check out the Coven Chronicles which provides weekly summaries of roleplaying activities.

Like every roleplaying game out there, we do have our own sets of rules. Even if you’re not a character in the game, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with them. Check out Rules of the Game and the Chatroom Rules.

If you are joining us as an approved character, you’ll first want to join The Official Olympic Coven Roleplayers and also review and sign our roleplayer resources.

Interested in joining the game as a character? You’ll want to first check our Casting Call forum to look for open auditions. You’ve probably noticed the extensive character list on the main page- the majority of the canon characters have already been cast. We do not accept challenges to the current players, however when one of the roles becomes vacant, we post an audition in the forum.

Do you have a great idea for an original character? Great! We’re currently not accepting new characters, however we always accept great biographies. The admins and moderators routinely meet to discuss our waiting list of characters and when they feel we have a stellar submission who would improve our game, they accept them. You’ll want to read our Non-Canon Audition Bio first. Next, check out the 10 Commandments of RPG Play. Finally, read through several of our accepted character bios. It’s always best to know who you’re hoping to play with and what our admins are looking for in their biographies.

When you feel like you’ve gotten your non-canon biography ready, reread it and spellcheck it one more time. Have a friend read it, if necessary. We don’t expect perfection, but we like all of our roleplayers to express strong writing skills. When you’re sure you can’t do any better, submit the bio to theolympiccoven@gmail.com. And wait, patiently. Please do not bother the admins with whether or not they have read your bio and have accepted or denied your character. They will read it, discuss it, and respond to you in due time.

Welcome to the OC! We’re happy to have you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any one of our admins or moderators. They would be more than happy to assist you however they can. And most importantly, have fun!
